CrSb (Chromium Antimonide)
A binary transition-metal pnictide crystallizing in the hexagonal NiAs-type structure, space group P6₃/mmc. It is a prominent candidate altermagnet, a newly recognized magnetic class combining zero net magnetization (like an antiferromagnet) with spin-split electronic bands (like a ferromagnet); CrSb hosts a high magnetic ordering temperature (T_N well above room temperature, ~700 K) and a large momentum-dependent spin splitting confirmed by photoemission. This robust, room-temperature altermagnetic order makes CrSb a leading platform for studying altermagnetism, spin-split transport, and antiferromagnetic spintronics without stray magnetic fields.
Sample specifications: Individual crystals measure approximately 2–3 mm, with a purity of up to 99.9999% (6N), and multiple high-quality single-crystal pieces included in each package.
Exfoliation: Difficult — strong interlayer bonding; mechanical exfoliation typically yields thick flakes, and ultrathin flakes are challenging to isolate.
Growth method: Flux growth.
