Cr₂S₃ (Chromium Sulfide)

Cr₂S₃ is a layered van der Waals magnetic semiconductor from the chromium sulfide system, adopting a trigonal (rhombohedral) phase. Its lattice is composed of Cr–S octahedra, and the magnetic exchange between Cr³⁺ ions gives rise to antiferromagnetic/ferrimagnetic ordering with an appreciable magnetic transition temperature. Combining magnetism with semiconducting behavior, Cr₂S₃ holds strong potential for spintronics, magneto-optical coupling, and van der Waals magnetic heterostructures.
　　Sample specifications: Individual crystals are approximately 1 mm in size, with a purity of up to 99.9999% (6N),with each package containing roughly 15–20 pieces.

Exfoliation: Difficult — strong interlayer bonding; mechanical exfoliation typically yields thick flakes, and ultrathin flakes are challenging to isolate.

Growth method: Chemical vapor transport (CVT).
