TiSe₂ (1T phase) (Titanium Diselenide)
A layered van der Waals transition-metal dichalcogenide with octahedral coordination, space group P3̄m1. It is a small-gap semimetal that undergoes a commensurate charge density wave (CDW) transition (~200 K), for which an excitonic-insulator mechanism has been proposed; copper intercalation or pressure suppresses the CDW and induces superconductivity. This makes 1T-TiSe₂ a central platform for studying excitonic condensation, CDW physics, and emergent superconductivity.
Growth method: Chemical vapor transport (CVT).
Sample specifications: Individual crystals measure approximately 3 mm, with a purity of up to 99.9999% (6N), and multiple high-quality single-crystal pieces included in each package.
Exfoliation: Easy — readily cleaved into thin flakes by standard mechanical exfoliation.
