ErTe₃ (Erbium Tritelluride)
A heavy rare-earth member of the RTe₃ family, space group Cmcm. Owing to its smaller lattice, in addition to the high-temperature primary CDW it develops a second charge density wave at low temperature oriented orthogonally to the first; the two CDWs compete with one another, making it a classic object for studying coupled multiple charge orders. The 4f moments of Er³⁺ order antiferromagnetically at very low temperature (~1 K), so ErTe₃ combines dual CDWs with magnetism, serving as an important platform for exploring competing electronic orders.
Growth method: Chemical vapor transport (CVT).
Sample specifications: Individual crystals measure approximately 1~2 mm, with a purity of up to 99.9999% (6N), and multiple high-quality single-crystal pieces included in each package.
Exfoliation: Easy — readily cleaved into thin flakes by standard mechanical exfoliation.
