A layered van der Waals compound, space group Cmcm, with a quasi-two-dimensional structure of ZrTe₅ layers. It sits near the boundary between weak and strong topological insulator phases and behaves as a three-dimensional Dirac semimetal, exhibiting a large anomalous resistivity peak, the chiral anomaly, and a possible three-dimensional quantum Hall effect. This proximity to multiple topological phases makes ZrTe₅ a central platform for studying Dirac-fermion physics and topological phase transitions.

Sample specifications: Individual crystals measure approximately 2~3 mm, with a purity of up to 99.9999% (6N), and multiple high-quality single-crystal pieces included in each package.

Exfoliation: Moderate — exfoliable by mechanical exfoliation, but isolating thin flakes may require repeated cleaving or optimized methods.

Growth method: Chemical vapor transport (CVT).
