VTe₂ (Vanadium Ditelluride)

A layered van der Waals transition-metal dichalcogenide that adopts distorted 1T (monoclinic) structures with pronounced charge density wave-type lattice distortions. It is metallic and exhibits candidate two-dimensional magnetism together with CDW order, with the ground state sensitive to phase (1T vs. distorted 1T′) and thickness. These competing instabilities make VTe₂ an interesting platform for studying CDW order, low-dimensional magnetism, and structural phase transitions in metallic TMDs.

Growth method: Chemical vapor transport (CVT).

Sample specifications: Individual crystals measure approximately 3 mm, with a purity of up to 99.9999% (6N), and multiple high-quality single-crystal pieces included in each package.

Exfoliation: Easy — readily cleaved into thin flakes by standard mechanical exfoliation.
