Sb₂Se₃ (Antimony Selenide)

A quasi-one-dimensional chalcogenide with an orthorhombic structure, space group Pnma, built from (Sb₄Se₆)_n ribbons bonded by van der Waals forces. It is an earth-abundant, non-toxic narrow-bandgap semiconductor (~1.1–1.2 eV) with strong light absorption and pronounced anisotropic carrier transport along its ribbons. These features make Sb₂Se₃ a promising absorber for thin-film photovoltaics and photodetectors.
