NaYbSe₂ (Sodium Ytterbium Selenide)

A layered rare-earth chalcogenide, space group R3̄m, in which Yb³⁺ ions form a perfect triangular lattice separated by Na and Se layers. With effective spin-1/2 moments (from spin-orbit-entangled Kramers doublets) on a geometrically frustrated triangular lattice and no magnetic order down to the lowest temperatures, it is a leading candidate for a quantum spin liquid. Its clean triangular geometry and tunable chalcogen chemistry make NaYbSe₂ an important model system for studying frustrated magnetism and spin-liquid physics.

Growth method: Flux growth.

Sample specifications: Individual crystals measure approximately 3 mm, with a purity of up to 99.9999% (6N), and multiple high-quality single-crystal pieces included in each package.

Exfoliation: Moderate — exfoliable by mechanical exfoliation, but isolating thin flakes may require repeated cleaving or optimized methods.
