HoTe₃ (Holmium Tritelluride)

A member of the RTe₃ rare-earth tritelluride family, space group Cmcm, and isostructural with CeTe₃. Fermi-surface nesting within the Te square nets drives an incommensurate charge density wave modulation. As the rare-earth ionic radius decreases, the lattice constants contract and the CDW transition temperature correspondingly rises; heavier members can even develop a second CDW along a perpendicular direction. Ho³⁺ carries a large localized moment and orders antiferromagnetically at low temperature, making HoTe₃ a representative system for studying the coexistence and competition between magnetism and charge order.

Growth method: Chemical vapor transport (CVT).

Sample specifications: Individual crystals measure approximately 2 mm, with a purity of up to 99.9999% (6N), and multiple high-quality single-crystal pieces included in each package.

Exfoliation: Easy — readily cleaved into thin flakes by standard mechanical exfoliation.
