HOPG (Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite)

HOPG is highly oriented pyrolytic graphite with near-perfect c-axis alignment of the graphene layers. It is the standard source material for mechanical exfoliation of graphene and a common calibration substrate for STM and AFM.

Growth method: High-temperature pyrolysis followed by stress annealing.

Sample specifications: Individual crystals measure approximately 3–4 mm, with a purity of up to 99.999% (5N), and 2–3 high-quality single-crystal pieces included in each package.

Exfoliation: Easy — the benchmark material for graphene exfoliation by the Scotch-tape method.
