Fe₃₋ₓGeTe₂
The Fe-deficient variant of the layered van der Waals ferromagnet Fe₃GeTe₂, space group P6₃/mmc. It is an itinerant two-dimensional ferromagnet with strong perpendicular anisotropy, whose Curie temperature (~150–230 K) and magnetic properties are highly sensitive to the Fe vacancy concentration x. This tunability, combined with gate- and intercalation-driven control of T_c toward room temperature, makes Fe₃₋ₓGeTe₂ a key model system for studying itinerant magnetism, heavy-fermion-like behavior, and two-dimensional spintronics.
