Bi₂Te₃ (Bismuth Telluride)
A layered van der Waals chalcogenide, space group R3̄m, composed of Te–Bi–Te–Bi–Te quintuple layers. It is simultaneously the archetypal room-temperature thermoelectric material and a three-dimensional topological insulator hosting a single Dirac-cone surface state. Its combination of a low lattice thermal conductivity, high thermoelectric figure of merit, and topologically protected surface transport makes Bi₂Te₃ an important platform for both thermoelectric energy conversion and topological quantum physics.
Growth method: Bridgman growth.
Sample specifications: Individual crystals measure approximately 3~4 mm, with a purity of up to 99.9999% (6N), and multiple high-quality single-crystal pieces included in each package.
Exfoliation: Easy — readily cleaved into thin flakes by standard mechanical exfoliation.
